Opened in 1986, Jerez has been on the calendar of the World Motorcycle Championship since it was built. It has undergone many modernizations, thanks to which it is invariably a world-class facility, and motorcyclists use smooth and grippy asphalt. In 2002, a service alley, and a viewing platform (commonly known as UFO) was built, which is now the showcase of the Jerez track.
The track has a total area of 113 hectares, of which 48,294 sq m is paddock. There are 43 boxes 12 meters long, 6 meters wide and over 3 meters high.
The track is located in Jerez de la Frontera - a city in southwestern Spain, located in the region of Andalusia. It is a well-connected starting point for tourists with a rich cultural, gastronomic and recreational base.
It was here that one of the most interesting MotoGP duels between Valentino Rossi and Sete Gibernau took place.
