The Sachsenring, home of the German Moto GP, has a rich and long-standing history with motorcycle racing dating back to 1927 It is located in Hohenstein-Ernstthal near Chemnitz in Saxony, Germany, just an hour's drive from Dresden or Leipzig. The technical and demanding facility that is undoubtedly the Sachsenring provides many exciting sections of the track and training opportunities.


Once a classic road racing circuit behind the Iron Curtain, today's Sachsenring has been transformed into a modern arena where the world's best motorcycle riders can once more do battle in front of an enthusiastic crowd.


Home to the German MotoGP round since 1998, the track begins with a sinuous series of sweeping curves before opening out to fast back section with considerable elevation change.


The 3.67 kilometer, 12 meter-wide, anti-clockwise circuit has 10 left-handed turns, only 3 right-handed turns, and a longest straight of 700 meters. The shortest track on the MotoGP calendar, its tight corners also make it one of the slowest tracks.

IMPORTANT:


Only standard exhausts and replacement exhausts with dB-killer will be authorised.


There is no petrol station in the paddock. Don't forget to bring one or two jerrycans with you. The closest petrol station HEM Fuel Station is located 0,5 km from the track.


There is a restaurant and a medical center on the track.


5m x 11m boxes are available for motorcycles. Telephone and TV connections as well as WCs in each box are standard. Additional WCs and showers are available for every 6 boxes.
